The Architect involved with this project made contact with Imperial via researching what Ductwork Installation team had completed the Apple Store at Covent Garden with the exposed on-show systems. IDSL visited the project and advised what could be achived against the hand drawn sketchs produced at the meeting.
During the meeting it was noted that the project not only had to be designed, detailed and installed in three days to allow the project to go live with TV filming straight away. The ductwork system had to incorporate light boxes due to the position of the ductwork being prime lighting zones for the cameras to gain the correct lux levels. IDSL designed and manufactured bespoke light boxes along with the manufactures light system and installed these on site the very next day.
One constraint and stipulation required for the filming crew was the flexibility to be able to change the angle of these lights to find the optimum level of lighting depending on angle of filming. IDSL designed the ductwork system so that it could be rotated up and down where the lights were located.
