Imperial Fire Solutions (IFS) is a division of Imperial Ductwork Services Ltd (IDSL), whose Dartford factory manufactures standard and bespoke fire resistant ductwork and service enclosure systems. The skill of our experienced engineers along with continued investment in cutting-edge machinery enables us to maintain the highest quality products that are reliable, fit for purpose, and fully compliant with the current BS EN standards and regulations.
One of the things that sets IFS apart from the competition is our state-of-the-art CGF machine, which utilises steel coils and automated mechanised production to mass-produce fully framed ducting in a matter of minutes.
This not only results in ductwork with zero chance of leakage from the frames, but also saves considerable time during production, enabling us to effortlessly deliver projects on schedule.
In addition, we are making considerable changes to our production process in order to further our journey towards Net Zero.
Our Green Steel Pledge
At IFS, we are passionate about protecting our planet and reducing our carbon footprint.
As part of our commitment to achieving this goal, we pledge that all the fire resistant ductwork and service enclosures manufactured at our Dartford factory will be produced using XCarb® recycled and renewably produced steel from ArcelorMittal.
As a result, by the end of 2025 we are targeting procurement through our strategic partner, ArcelorMittal, of over 1000 tonnes of lower embedded carbon (LEC) steel, which reflects real life cycle savings of 1,694 tonnes of CO2e.
XCarb® recycled and renewably produced steel reduces CO₂ emissions by 65% compared to traditional steelmaking, supporting IFS’s commitment to decarbonisation and carbon footprint reduction.
LEC steel fire resistant ductwork and service enclosures will be supplied to live and future projects across the UK, keeping sustainability at the heart of our core values.
